The Best Pokémon Extended Artwork Cards to Display in 2026
Extended artwork Pokémon cards are some of the most visually stunning collectibles ever printed. With their borderless designs that stretch beyond the traditional card frame, they deserve to be displayed — not hidden away in a binder. Here are our picks for the best extended artwork cards to showcase in 2026.
What Makes an Extended Artwork Card Special?
Extended artwork cards (also called full-art or alternate art cards) feature illustrations that bleed to the edges of the card, creating a dramatic, immersive look. When displayed in a quality case or frame, they look like miniature pieces of art. That's exactly why collectors love them.
1. Umbreon VMAX 215/203 — Alternate Art
The Umbreon VMAX alternate art from Evolving Skies is widely considered one of the most beautiful cards ever printed. The moody, atmospheric illustration of Umbreon in a moonlit forest makes it an absolute showstopper when displayed. Available in our OctaX display cases.
2. Espeon VMAX 270/264 — Alternate Art
The perfect companion to Umbreon VMAX, Espeon VMAX's alternate art features a dreamy pastel palette that contrasts beautifully when displayed alongside its counterpart. Collectors often display these two together for maximum visual impact.
3. Lugia V 186/195 — Alternate Art
Lugia V's alternate art from Silver Tempest is a fan favourite, featuring a breathtaking ocean scene with Lugia emerging from the waves. The sweeping blues and whites make it one of the most display-worthy cards in any collection.
4. Glaceon VSTAR GG40 — Gallery Rare
Gallery rares like Glaceon VSTAR GG40 feature a unique etched background that catches the light beautifully. When displayed in a quality case, the shimmer effect is truly eye-catching — especially under warm lighting.
5. Vaporeon VMAX SWSH182 — Promo
The Vaporeon VMAX promo card features a lush underwater scene that looks incredible when framed. Its cool blue tones make it a versatile display piece that works in almost any room aesthetic.
